Easter at Home

By April 12, 2020One Comment

This Easter definitely has a different tone. I keep a brave face on for the kids but as I pushed my cart down the grocery aisle wearing disposable gloves and a face mask collecting Easter candy I couldn’t help but have a doomsday feeling. It’s such a strange thing to witness others doing the same; like this is just the new normal.
Easter has always been a big deal to us. Since the boys couldn’t see their extended family this year we decided to make it as fun as possible right here at home. I do not excel in baking or cooking, and I’m definitely not a “Pinterest mom” but I wanted to make the day as exciting as possible. So, I printed out a scavenger hunt so the boys would practice reading about the true meaning of Easter in order to find their baskets. We’ve never done this before and to my surprise they had an absolute blast! It was so fun photographing them finding the egg clues around the house.
My parents are our usual holiday hosts and love  cooking for all of us but since we couldn’t be together, Snooze AM Eatery came through for us in a major way. We had an incredible brunch with a brioche french toast casserole and a hash brown breakfast casserole. Even the pickiest among our little family enjoyed this sweet and savory meal!

Landon loves making and decorating cakes  around the holidays. His favorite part is cracking the eggs. He feels so confident when he finishes decorating and always asks us to send photos of his masterpiece to his extended family.  Easton is the official taste tester of the family and our toughest critic. ☺️We love to capture him just being himself at home. I’ve really been loving the retro photo look lately so we edited these to look like film.
Whatever your plans are this Easter, I hope you do something that you love and document it.
Happy Easter everyone!🐣🐰
