We were so excited when we learned that Great Wolf Lodge was coming to Scottsdale. Amanda experienced the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells as a teen and was blown away by the idea of an indoor water park in the winter. So naturally, we wanted our children to make memories there too!
We booked the trip in the fall because we wanted to celebrate Easton’s second birthday there. Luckily, the weather is so warm here, we were able to use both the indoor and outdoor aquatic areas. The indoor water park is the size of two football fields so you can imagine how large it seems to a two year old. We are in the process of creating a video and post all about the water park so stay tuned for that.
Besides the massive water park there were tons of dry activities for our older child, Landon. Landon was absolutely obsessed with the Magi Quest. He picked out a special magic wand and went on as many quests as he could while we were there. Another fun perk to booking in the fall, is that is is “Howl-o-ween” at the lodge. The lodge had not-too-spooky decor and nightly trick or treating for the kiddos.
We loved the room we stayed in. We chose the Wolf Den Suite. The children’s part of the room is partitioned off and designed to look like a mini cabin with bunk beds and even a mounted TV. Since our toddler still sleeps in a crib we requested a crib and were given a pack and play. We weren’t sure if our two year old would stay in the lower bunk bed and wanted the crib to be safe.
When we were heading out Landon said “I’m so happy we got to come here” and when I asked Easton if he had fun he said, “I like it” one of his few phrases these days. 😉 We call that a family vacation success!
