Modern Mortgage had a strong brand direction to “be the Tesla of mortgage”. This direction was for both visuals as well as the messaging. Their inspirational brands included brands like Harry’s…and sometimes understanding what a client likes and dislikes is the breakthrough needed to align on the direction. I was fortunate Modern Mortgage knew what they wanted, and we delivered a restrained brand with minimal use of color, shapes, patterns, etc.

Amaros Medical had an urgent need for an upcoming product presentation and with that they also needed a logo update. Their existing logo style and brand direction was set…they just needed help weaving in a cohesive visual identity. The direction of the logo mark was a literal and directly correlates to the vision industry; an outsider would never know what it represented, but their target audience would. I utilized the previous color and developed a complementary color palette and used the previous color as the accent.

The 27 slide presentation was a typical style executive deck with title page, overviews, features and benefits. Where possible, I broke out the text heavy slides with iconography. Since there was a good chance the presentation was going to be projected, I utilized dark background colors and reversed text which is easier on the eyes. The presentation needed to be edited by non-Creatives, and on both Mac and PCs, so font choice was critical so anyone could evolve the slides as needed.

When I began working with the AZ Blue Sky team, their name was AZ Blue Sky Catering. It didn’t take long to understand their name was restricting their true value to consumers so I recommended they update their name from “catering” to “events”. They were more than catering food; they were providing entertainment at events like the Arizona Cactus League Spring Training games, Arizona State Football and Arizona Cardinals tailgating.

The initial scope was to develop a WordPress website which could facilitate real-time orders and booking events and ended expanding beyond the digital request to support grassroots marketing. One additional recommendation I made, after the very first conversation was to donate a portion of their proceeds to military causes. They were already doing it, but I recommended making it a part of their brand story as they were passionate about supporting vets.

Global Orthopedic was a startup and needed a completed brand identity and studio photography of their products. The visual brands’s goal was simple, yet it needed to instantly inform the audience what industry they solve problems for…without being too literal. The abstract spine and simple text treatment to the “A” are sometimes all it takes to stand out and look professional. Their initial thought was to have a caduceus in the logo, the common medical snake symbol, but I am glad they allowed my creative samples to trump their preconceived thoughts.

The colors were a sky blue and gray palette and we decided to not have additional colors appear in the brand expression.

Ever heard the saying, “There is more to this than meets the eye”? This logo is a true landmark for that saying. At a glance it looks like a simple logo, but there are a few hidden features. The word “contractors” underlines the word “inch”. The mark to the right is made up of inch marks and the two different patterns showcasing the letters “c” “c”.

Uncorked already had the basics of this logo, I just updated the logo to match their website I designed. The logo needed more than a transparent background and color treatment, it needed a new appeal. Adding the cork circle background and the tagline allows this logo to stand on its own and be instantly distinguishable… isn’t that what logos are supposed to do?
